Liala (they/them) As someone who values their identity as both bi-racial and non-binary, Liala delivers intersectional, affirming mental health care that embraces neurodiversity and caters to the unique experiences of individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as those facing grief, loss, trauma, chronic illness, depression, anxiety, or identity-related struggles. With a background in the criminal justice field spanning 15 years, Liala brings a deep understanding of the importance of social justice and mental health advocacy to their work as a therapist. During their spare time, Liala describes themselves as a homebody who delights tending to their plants, writing creatively, getting engrossed in a good book, and playing retro games. Though rare, Liala can be sometimes spotted in the wild, especially at a local coffee shop or tattoo parlor. Madyson Soria-Estrada

Madyson (she/her) is an intern at Therapeia Counseling. She is a Marine Corps veteran with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counseling from Oakland University. Beginning therapy can be intimidating and uncomfortable, but Madyson aims to create an environment that allows clients to feel safe and empowered throughout their journey toward healing. She believes in meeting the client where they are to assist in creating a collaborative and therapeutic relationship, walking together to reach the client’s goals. As a counselor, Madyson is dedicated to utilizing evidence-based practices that best fit the client and their goals. She provides counseling for individuals 18 and older with a focus on anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. Madyson accepts Blue Cross Complete, and private pay $25-40.

Carly (she/her) has a doctorate degree in Clinical Sexology from the Modern Sex Therapy Institutes and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wayne State University. She is also a Certified Sex Therapist, certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and is currently working towards her Somatic Sex Therapy certification. Carly believes in creating a safe, brave, and inclusive space for individuals and couples by providing trauma-informed care to heal and grow. She understands that many things happen in our lives and will take the time to understand your perspective and be an ally to you in this journey. She promises you won’t be alone in this process. Carly is accepting new clients. She accepts private pay, OON, BCBS, BCN, Priority Health-PPO/HMO only and Aetna-PPO/HMO only. She provides counseling to individuals 17+ and couples. Insurance not accepted for couples counseling. Rate $175. Couples $150.

Melissa Youngblood Therapist

Melissa Youngblood, MA LPC

Melissa (she/her) is the President of Therapeia and Clinical Director. She has been a licensed professional mental health counselor since 2005. Melissa is a Master-Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART), and is licensed in Michigan to provide counseling and clinical supervision/private practice mentorship. She has Sailor, a certified animal-assisted therapy dog in the office and believes animals help the healing.

Melissa specializes in working with PTS in veterans and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. She is not currently taking clients at this time.
